I’m writing today to give some well deserved praise for Matt Gilson. Matt works for Met Life Insurance company and when my insurance agent / provider was no longer a good fit, Matt was hired and has done an outstanding job.
I want to share some details about my situation that will paint a clearer picture to how effective and thorough Matt is:
My family & I had been a client for 9 yrs with a different Agent. One day I had to contact my agent about something minor. When I contacted them they had informed me that I had not been insured for the prior two months. I had found out that the automatic payment system that I was using to pay my insurance bill had malfunctioned and because of non-payment, I was no longer insured. I asked why I wasn’t contacted. The response that I got was that they sent out a couple of letters and that they came back as undeliverable. Being a client of them for as long as I had, I fully expected a better effort for them to get in touch with me, especially when it came to my insurance coverage.
My former agent said that they would start to research and get us the best possible deal to reinstate our insurance. Not being happy with what had transpired, I instantly contacted Matt to see what he could do. The former agent called me back and gave me a quote to the best possible price that he could negotiate. Matt called me back with a quote that was 60% less than what was quoted by my former insurance agent. As you could well imagine, I was more than shocked. It seems that my insurance agent was not checking for the best rates from year to year, so I had been paying excessive rates.
Since the time that I have hired Matt to be our agent, he has been a top professional in the way that he has handled all of our situations. Matt is a competent, compassionate and thorough professional.

I wanted to thank Matt Gilson, Metlife insurance for his follow and work he did to help my father, Daniel Drew with his auto, home and flood insurance. Matt called him and upon calling him, my father told him how his business was flooded from the past flood. Daniel was just told by FEMA that he had to get flood insurance in order to receive the SBA loan to rebuild his business.
Matt went way beyond any Insurance agent job duties to help my father. He called FEMA to find out exactly what type of insurance was needed. Then he worked vigorously to get the insurance at not only a competitive price but a price my father could afford pay annually. Because of the work Matt has done for my father he is going to be approved for the loan to rebuild his business and get back on his feet.
Also Matt has not only saved my father on his auto and home insurance but he has cut his bill in half.
